About "This Blows"
One year ago, Rumble Productions set out with a simple intention: to give back to our community in a meaningful way. Our starting point? A nonprofit called Queer Keys. We offered to create an original musical to support their fundraising efforts. All we asked for was a single sentence to serve as our creative anchor. With our cast already assembled—and no storyline yet in place—we wanted the heart of the project to be shaped by the community itself.
Queer Keys gave us the prompt: “Stand your ground in who you are.”
That one line gave us an enthusiastic challenge. We used it to create something original, something inspired by that sentence -- and an entire show was born.
What emerged is a story about inclusiveness, self-worth, and the courage to step out of your own way. It’s also a story about community—about how we are all, in many ways, navigating the same waters together, facing challenges bigger than any one of us.
This production was written for the locals, by the locals, and it stars local talent. Each year, the cast and featured businesses rotate--as we are dedicated to intentionally providing educational opportunities for people to transition into sketch, comedy, and music. Having a new storyline each year allows us to create an ongoing love letter from Rumble Productions to Key West and the hard-working people who keep this island vibrant—especially those who spend their days making visitors feel welcome.
A defining joy of this project is the enthusiastic participation of local businesses and neighbors, many of whom we write directly into the show. Equally meaningful is our commitment to inviting new performers to take the stage—often for the very first time. Actors, singers, comedians, sponsors, and friends of the company regularly step out of their comfort zones to try something new, bringing an energy that is both heartfelt and wildly fun.
This year’s show was collaboratively written by Jess Wachs, Steve Crane, Aubrey Urban, and Dominic Paolillo.
Not only is "This Blows" the newest annual show in Key West, it's also the ONLY sketch comedy show in the area.

Jess Wachs
A Wisconsin native with New Mexican roots and a Los Angeles history, Jessica is a Key West based singer/songwriter, personality, and content creator with a spontaneous, authentic flare. Jess grew up immersed in jazz, musical theatre, and choral music before a love for film, comedy, and a cappella evolved, igniting her innovation and eclectic creativity full time.
After performing internationally during her college years, Jessica formed the award-winning Rumble Productions, an Albuquerque-based entertainment company that produced for clients original and experimental content that ranged from personalized flash mobs and choose-your-own-adventure musicals to a cappella sketch comedy and improv. Simultaneously, Jessica worked in film both behind and in front of the camera, taking part in shows as Better Call Saul, Longmire, Jane Got a Gun, Rachel Bloom’s Mother Mary, Yellowstone, Roswell, and many other shows.
Since arriving in Key West 4 1/2 years ago, Rumble and Jess have one or been nominated for 14 awards, produced almost 200 events and entertainment services, taught over 120 students, and have become a serious creative force in the Key West community.
Currently, Jessica is producing a full season of Rumble entertainment both live and on film in Key West, building bridges between Los Angeles’s artistic elite and Key West’s rising stars.

Steven Crane
Meet Steven Crane — a cornerstone of Key West’s comedy and performance scene and one of the driving creative forces behind This Blows Season 2.
Steven has been performing stand-up in Key West since 2018, bringing sharp wit, clever storytelling, and island-flavored humor to stages across the Keys. Over the years, he’s hosted dog shows, 24 theater productions, and numerous burlesque performances, making him one of the most versatile hosts and performers in town.
After appearing in last year’s production of This Blows, Steven is back — this time stepping further into the spotlight as part of this year’s directing team. His experience, stage presence, and comedic instincts help shape the heart (and the chaos) of the show.

Aubrey Urban
Chicago-born, Boulder-trained, and Key West by sheer force of fate, Aubrey Urban brings her razor-sharp wit and brilliantly offbeat humor to This Blows as our Head Writer.
Aubrey started performing stand-up in Boulder before taking stages across the country — but everything changed in 2019 when a “perfectly fine” weekend trip to Key West turned into a permanent relocation after her flight home was canceled.
Her response?
“Well, I guess I live here now.”
And thank god she does.
Aubrey performs weekly at Comedy Key West, where her cerebral, clever, and quietly chaotic comedy has made her a local favorite. Beyond stand-up, she’s starred in theater productions, radio shows, and music projects, proving she’s a true multi-hyphenate performer with range to spare.
As Head Writer of This Blows – Season 2, Aubrey helps shape the voice, tone, and comedic backbone of the entire show — bringing Key West realness, character-driven comedy, and that very specific “how-did-she-think-of-that?” magic to the stage.

Theresa Chiechi
From New York to the end of the road, Theresa is a cartoonist, illustrator, and storyteller whose life took a magical turn when she moved to Key West in 2019 to create her graphic novel “Drawn to Key West,” a heartfelt tribute to the vibrant street-performing community at Mallory Square.
Ever since, she’s been wondering how she made every single correct life choice to land exactly where she is today.
Theresa now splits her time between crafting comic series, editorial illustrations, and selling her original artwork on Etsy — all while keeping island life colorful and creative.
When she’s not drawing (which is extremely rare), you’ll find her binge-listening to podcasts, dancing, or hitting the mic for stand-up performances at Comedy Key West.

Stephanie Villasuso
A 17-year local and a native of the mainland Miami, FL, Stephanie brings the chaos, creativity, and clever problem-solving that This Blows thrives on. As the show’s Props Girl, she transforms wild ideas into real-world pieces that match Key West’s unpredictable humor. Guided by her “Let’s Create” spirit, Stephanie blends local culture, practical magic, and a hint of mischief into everything she crafts. Her work helps elevate scenes, sparks laughs, and shapes the show’s style. Whether it’s a gag or a moment on screen, Stephanie’s artistic touch keeps This Blows fun and memorable.

Bobbi Gould
Bobbi Gould is a certified Reiki healer, life coach, meditation guide, author, and self-proclaimed laughologist who brings heart, humor, and deep healing wisdom to everything she does.
With a passion for helping others move through grief, stress, and major life transitions, Bobbi blends energy work, mindfulness, and somatic practices to guide people back to themselves. Her work centers on compassion, clarity, and reconnecting individuals to their purpose so they can return to a life of joy, ease, and alignment.
Bobbi brings her whole heart, whole soul, and whole sparkle to This Blows — and we can’t wait for you to experience her magic on stage.
